This book of homage to Robèrt Martí, who died in May 2021, does not pretend to tell everything about this great man. Each contribution simply wants to speak, in its own way, of the man, private or public, and of his work.

Testimonies or analyses, the texts gathered evoke an unusual man. All of them offer us a particular vision, a personal and subjective focus, but nevertheless, from one writing to another, the constants are obvious, revealing a person who is one and multiple at the same time: the lover of a country and a language, the passionate of transmission, the profound writer, the author of songs and articles, of humorous plays, the efficient and beloved pedagogue, the man whose eye sparkles with wit, the enthusiastic and tireless activist, the cultured and upright intellectual, with an unambiguous commitment, the unparalleled storyteller, the shy one who can speak out loudly and expose himself when necessary, the faithful friend...

This homage was obvious to us, to say how lucky and happy we were to have known Robèrt Martí, and how much we owe him. We give him back a little of what he gave us and still gives us.
