Cronicas de Viatge - Sèrgi Labatut

Novel Travel Story - A Tots 209

It is a fragmented journey, in places and time, to which Serge Labatut invites us. Europe and Africa, both so far and so close to each other. To shed more light on this book, let us quote the quote of Robert Louis Stevenson: "the important thing is not so much the destination as the journey."

More than forty brief texts, such as sketches taken on the spot, short scenes, meetings, which will make you travel from Italy to Slovakia, Poland, the West Indies, Spain and various African countries ...

Sèrgi Labatut, a passionate writer of Occitan, American and French literature, is successfully trying out this new book on the travelogue. A literary success ..

Collection A tots n°209, IEO edicions.

Extract:

Translation in english:
"What fascinated me was the visible dignity on the faces." Men of the people, they were looking ahead to the life that was coming to an end, and in other photographs the men were wearing the tie, which reminded me of my childhood. My father's working friends put the tie on Sunday to go to important prisoner or union meetings, and that was also a question of dignity. "

(end of the last text, "La Mòstra", Addis Ababa).
