Gao - Eric Fraj (CD)
GAO is an original creation on texts by Eric Fraj, Jean-Raymond Gélis, Marie Gélis, Roland Pécout, Jean Rigouste...
The GAO recital was created in 2008, thanks to the collaboration of two friends: the audacious Michel Pintenet, director of L’Estive (Scène Nationale de Foix et de l'Ariège), and the talented Jean-Raymond Gelis. I mentioned the town of Gao, in Mali, where I lived a few years of my childhood and where I almost died. Almost 50 years later, this city appeared to me in a dream and asked me what I had done with the life it had left me. Here is my answer: 18 eclectic songs, which speak of an imaginary, dreamlike Africa. And ask us: what about our life? What about our world ?
