Robert MARTY was born in February 1944 in Albi (81). It bathed in the maternal occitan of the Bastide of Saint Just on Viaur. His professional career in teaching and his cultural commitment have only strengthened his love for the language. President of the Institute of Occitan Studies for 10 years, he was Director of the publishing and broadcasting sector of the I.E.O: IDECO.
A well-known novelist (he will have the honors of Apostrophes with B. Pivot), he will publish several novels in Occitan, the Ombra doça de la nuèch, the balestriere of Miramont ... which are set in the Viaur valley.
It is also known by the nickname of
Padena; A humorous character with whom he made numerous shows.
His commitment led him quite naturally in the footsteps of
Jean Boudou. And it was through his remarkable work as President of the association Ostal Joan Bodon that he allowed one of his most beautiful dreams to be realized: to rehabilitate in the territory that saw him born and grow, the memory Of this extraordinary writer, the one whom some rightly describes as Camus Occitan.
