Games on words, invocations to nature, formulas, jumpers, lullabies, JAN PETEJAN takes us on the paths of a living tradition, that of the childish folklore which, in Provence, is bilingual: Provençal / French languages. The child culture presented here is not anecdotal: it is the object of scientific colloquia, or of literary observations. It is also a way to take you by the hand on the paths of your own childhood.

To reveal this unknown aspect of Provence, Jean-Luc Domenge collected and cross-checked numerous testimonials, from the Rhone to the Italian Alps, passing by the maritime Provence, the Haute Provence and the Pays Niçois.

Authors:

Jean-Luc Domenge, teacher-researcher and smuggler, he is founder of the "Musée des Arts et Traditions Populaires " (Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions) of Castellane, author of many articles and books on the songs and folk tales of Provence and a grammar of Provençal Var and an Encyclopedic dictionary of the Tinée language.


Marlene Nabeth-Hosan and Florian Mesureux, traditional musicians, listened to the tapes and transcribed the scores.


Alain Barthélemy-Vigouroux, Honorary Academy Inspector, Secretary of the Association for the Teaching of the Langue d'Oc, made the preface.


Michael Crosa, young illustrator, painter and graphic artist illustrated the book.


Patrick Meyer, founder of the association Cantar Lou Pais, is the initiator of this publishing project and the director of this collection.
