Camins de Trobar - Le troubadour Guiraut Riquier de Narbonne - Gérard Zuchetto

Songs and poetry (in occitan and french) of the troubadour Guiraut Riquier.

At the dawn of modern literature ...

In the twelfth century, in Occitania, the Trobar, the art of the troubadours, was born. Great lords or simple commoners, these poet-musicians, will animate more than two hundred years of intellectual life with knowledge and knowledge. Genius, humor, love and courtesy embellish a mastered poetic-musical art that imposes itself on us today in a style that is safe and unalterable.

The Cansos exalt love, joy and youth, in a learned alchemy of words and sounds. They revive the passionate feelings and invent a new breath to Occitan writing, that of the Genie d'Oc. And this Great Song is spread all over Europe, Italy, Sicily, Malta, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal, Hungary and in the distant courtyards of the confines of the Mediterranean, where the influential political figures welcome the troubadours with a certain interest.

When the great people of this world participate in the poetic debate, the troubadours mix with the political debate. In this context of conviviality and sharing, convivencia e sharing, will flourish the Trobar, today considered, rightly as the cradle of modern literatures of Europe.
