The author:
Jean Vezole (1923-2014). A self-taught scholar, storyteller and writer, it wasn't until he retired that this schoolteacher, the son of peasants, began writing in Occitan. He draws the material for his tales from what he learned in the villages where he taught, and also draws inspiration from tales from the French provinces. A specialist in old medieval documents and ancient Occitan, he is the author of numerous historical and philological articles.
