Eric Gonzales's latest book, "Auròst entà ua escort", takes us into the Palois nightlife district, with characters on the bangs of society, to solve Laura's murder. Commandant Heugars is in charge of the murder of a young woman who turns out to be an escort. The inner circle is not very large: a friend, a few clients. And the investigation takes an unexpected turn.

We meet up again with Commandant Heugars, the hero of his first book, L'òrra istoèra d'un hilh de Gelòs, published and awarded in 1996. The author demonstrates his mastery of the detective genre and, of course, of the language, for the langue d'oc has been his passion since childhood.

This is how the book begins: "The day was too beautiful for me to want to deal with murders".

The author:
Eric Gonzales (b. 1964 in Pau, d. 2023) studied and taught history, and was a teacher of Occitan in various secondary schools. In 2004, he resumed his studies in classics and worked as a freelance linguist and translator. He wrote several books, including L'òrra istuèra d'un hilh de Gelòs, which won the Prix Jean Boudou in 1997, an essential work that opened the door to the modern Occitan novel in Gascony.
He wrote regularly for the literary magazine Reclams, of which he was chief editor. He is also the author of the grammar wiki published by Le Congrès Permanent de la Langue Occitane.
