This new translation (2018) into French verse makes it possible to rediscover and appreciate the poems of Frédéric Mistral, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1904. This collection is the first song of "Calendal", Frédéric Mistral's masterpiece published in 1867.

A young fisherman from Cassis falls madly in love with a young girl he met on the hill. She tells him that she loves him but that this love is impossible...

This new bilingual edition retains the original Mistralian spelling. A new translation in French verse respecting the rhythm and the poetry of Frédéric MISTRAL is proposed opposite.

The author :
Frédéric MISTRAL, born in Maillane in 1830 and died in Maillane in 1914, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1904, is originally an immense work written in Provençal.
