L'Arpitan, qu'es aquò ?

"Le Franco-Provençal (l'Arpitan) : what is it ?" A collection of twenty articles written for the online monthly "Nòvas d'Occcitània". Its objective is to present the franco-provençal (arpitan) by addressing many points of interest and trying to outline new elements of knowledge and study. The Franco-Provençal language (of Valais origin) is accompanied by an Italian translation in order to allow all users to fully enjoy the content

The author:

Matteo Ghiotto was born in Susa in 1984 to a Valaisian mother and father. He learns Franco-Provençal from his grandparents and the elderly in Novalesa, the town where he lives. He deepens his knowledge of the language, of which he is passionate, by completing linguistic studies at an academic level and obtaining a master's degree in linguistic sciences. He is currently working in the Francoprovençales linguistic branches of Piedmont in application of Law 482/99 "Rules for the protection of historical linguistic minorities" for which he is responsible for territorial animation and linguistic and professional training courses. For the same he translated "Le Petit Prince" by Saint-Exupéry in Franco-Provençal, presented at the Turin International Book Fair in 2016.
